What is ePIC Canada 2026?
ePIC Canada 2026 is a pan-Canadian gathering dedicated to the open recognition of learning and skills, and to the emergence of a more inclusive, collaborative and resilient learning society.
Building on the international ePIC movement and the work carried out by the annual ePIC conference in Europe on open recognition, inclusion, and the equal value of all forms of learning, ePIC Canada offers an opportunity to apply the global values and practices of open recognition to the challenges of skills development here in Canada.
The event brings together stakeholders from education, industry, skills development, digital technology, artificial intelligence, public policy, community development and social innovation to build recognition practices that are more inclusive, human and open.

Five strategic objectives
ePIC Canada 2026 is built around five objectives to turn recognition into a lever for inclusion, mobility, employability, productivity and social innovation.
Objective 1
Advance a culture of open recognition by fostering the emergence of a learning society.
Create a pan-Canadian space for dialogue to advance recognition practices that are open, inclusive and adapted to the realities of English and French Canada.
Objective 2
Valuing all forms of learning
Value all forms of learning and skills and empower individuals. Highlight the skills acquired in formal, non-formal and informal settings, including forms of knowledge that are too often overlooked.
Objective 3
Equip organizations with concrete practices
Share practices, technologies and infrastructures that foster open, sustainable and collaborative learning environments.
Objective 4
Strengthen collaborations and build learning ecosystems
Create lasting bridges between the worlds of education, employment, governments and international networks — aligned with the ePIC and Open Recognition movements.
Objective 5
Lay the foundation for transformative and sustainable action
Make ePIC Canada 2026 not just an event, but a catalyst for sustainable national transformation.

We invite you to contribute to this pan-Canadian gathering dedicated to the open recognition of learning and skills, and to advancing a more inclusive, collaborative, and resilient learning society.
Your contribution may take the form of a presentation, a spotlight on an inspiring initiative, or an interactive session designed to encourage dialogue and knowledge exchange.
By fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation, ePIC Canada 2026 aims to showcase inspiring practices, strengthen partnerships, and help transform learning ecosystems to better address Canada's major social, digital, and economic challenges. Conference participants can benefit from a preferential rate at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Ottawa City Centre, a modern hotel located in the heart of downtown Ottawa.
Close to Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal, and numerous restaurants and attractions, the hotel is also directly connected to the Lyon light rail (O-Train) station, making it easy to get around the capital.
The Canadian War Museum, where the conference will take place, is about 1.3 km from the hotel — a 12- to 15-minute walk. Those who prefer can also get there within minutes by car, taxi or Uber, or public transit.
Group-rate rooms are available from September 27 to October 3, subject to availability. We encourage you to book your accommodation as early as possible to take advantage of the preferential rate negotiated for the conference.
